Documents executed in a foreign country cannot be registered unless properly authenticated.In this jurisdiction, documents acknowledged before, and authenticated by , a notary public in a foreign country shall be considered authentic if further authenticated by an ambassador, secretary of legation, charge d'affairs, consul, vice consul, or consular agent of the Philippines in that place. It is the certificate of the proper Philippine officer that gives the stamp of authenticity and in its absence, the document is not considered authentic and is not registrable in the Philippines.
