Original copies of documents
It is a basic requirement in registration that the original copy of the document sought to be annotated on the title, and other pertinent papers relative thereto, must be presented and submitted to the Register of Deeds.If the original copy is lost, destroyed or otherwise cannot be presented , a copy thereof certified by its official custodian and accompanied by an affidavit stating the reason why the original cannot be produced, may be accepted for entry and registration.
